Meet the Rambler

Or: Why does this keyboard have so much to say?

Greetings and a warm welcome from this delightful corner of the online world! I’m Brent, though you may call me Eddie Eclectic. The name carries significance; it embodies my middle name and highlights my tendency to explore a variety of interests rather than confining myself to a single path. I explore topics that intrigue me and inspire my soul, ranging from Scripture and classic anime to pop culture and the subtle teachings that can be found in daily life.

This blog, Have Keyboard, Will Ramble, serves as an open journal, a soapbox, and a sanctuary all in one. It’s a space where I seek to understand the world—with sincerity, kindness, and the occasional digression. I have encountered various experiences and grappled with numerous challenges. Now I write to draw connections—not solely for my own understanding, but hopefully for others who may feel they have strayed from their intended path.

I identify as a Christian by conviction, an old otaku (geek) shaped by culture, and a writer out of necessity. I navigate health challenges that have influenced my outlook, caused me to take a step back, and encouraged me to appreciate the details that often go unnoticed: the lyrical nature of Scripture, the emotional depth of a serene anime moment, the understated charm of Appalachian seasons, or the soothing sound of a keyboard when you’re fully immersed in your work.

What can you anticipate in this space?

Anticipate diversity—and an authentic expression throughout. You will discover:

  • Insightful reflections on faith, frequently grounded in Scripture yet always approachable
  • Insights on anime and manga, particularly those that resonate emotionally, explore historical contexts, or reveal layers of meaning.
  • Reflections on the subtle rhythms of life: memory, creativity, solitude, nostalgia
  • A sporadic exploration of history, philosophy, or cultural nuances

You won’t encounter clickbait, sensational opinions, or following fleeting trends here. I’m not here to seek fame—I’m here to be authentic.

Reasons Behind My Writing

I write as it allows me to find my breath—at times, quite literally. This is how I navigate life, providing support and sharing warmth in a digital space. If anything I express strikes a chord, brings a smile, or prompts a moment of reflection, then it’s all worthwhile.

One Last Thing… If you’ve ever felt somewhat out of sync with the contemporary world, if you value sincere expressions more than superficial excitement, and if you find yourself captivated by both the sacred and the peculiar—then you are not alone.
