A Day in the Life
I know my life is not so riveting that you would be interested in reading my diary. Frankly, today is no exception. Yet, it has been a busy day today as I prepare for my father’s heart catheterization tomorrow. I have to drive him about two hours away early in the morning. I hope I sleep well.
I made things easy for my mom by fixing lunch. I have an Instant Vortex Plus that includes an air fry function. Both she and dad like when I air fry them some chicken. On the plus side, it doesn’t heat the house like an oven. That would not have mattered, though, since today is a wet, chilly day. I can cook tenderloin pieces in about 15 minutes. So, even if it is the last minute, I can contribute something substantial to the meal.
I will have to be at the hospital with dad tomorrow for about 12 hours. If they have to put in a stint, he will have to spend the night. So, in my preparations, I am charging up all of my electronic devices and packing the backpack in which I will store my diversions for the hours I am sitting in the small waiting room. I hope they have electrical outlets in the waiting room that the public can use too. I will not be able to use my portable air concentrator for so many hours otherwise. When I wear an air mask, I cannot simply turn the volume of air down as I might otherwise. (I am supposed to set my concentrator on 4 liters per minute.)
As far as writing goes, my primary focus was on completing the article being published at preacherpollard.com tomorrow. I would consider a devotional message to be of greater importance than anything appearing here. I blew my brainpower on that one. All that is left now is this tired brain substituting a diary entry for a legitimate blog post. You might wonder why I should even bother. It is about establishing habits. It would be too easy to make excuses and not create a post today. That, in turn, would make it easier not to create posts on other days.
My plan, at the moment, is to take my laptop with me. I will have access to the hospital’s WiFi. Thus, I should be able to write a post for my blog tomorrow as I wait. I am thinking about writing about the changes I would make to our election process if I could. Or, since my dad will be in the midst of a procedure, I might wax nostalgic. You will have to check and see. Well, that is it for this episode of a “day in the life.” Hopefully, you have been having a great day.
